James Berston began his career in the financial services industry in 2004, initially specializing in mortgages within the lending arena. In 2006, James became securities licensed and began serving as a liaison for high net worth, and ultra high net worth families in the greater Boise area. During that time planning, including trust, estate, and insurance were the areas of focus. After four years in the trust and high net worth family world, the desire to bring strategies used for those families to his hometown in Gardnerville, Nevada became a reality. James' vision for how client should be treated and portfolios built, led him to start Tactical Wealth Services in 2023. With a focus on planning for income, wealth, transfer, and retirement, James and his team at TWS look to help many more families to come.
When not at work James loves to spend time with his wife Kate and their three kids, Averi, Henry, and Penelope “Poppy”. Home life consists of a menagerie of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and two Clydesdale horses. The home-based zoo is lovingly referred to as Kate‘s “emotional support farm.” When not doing “farm“ chores, golf, reading, and travel fill the days.
